Ellis’ involvement in the community as an art advocate and educator has earned him recognition from numerous organizations and city officials. His latest exhibit entitled, “Hope, Healing and the Rebirth of New Orleans” chronicles the plight and perseverance of the people in New Orleans as they struggle to overcome the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. This exhibit will first open in May of 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana; afterwards, it will tour the US with planned exhibits in the following areas: Boston, New York, Washington, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Miami, Dallas, Orlando, Charlotte, Atlanta and San Francisco Bay area, from Silicon Valley in the south to the Napa Valley wine region. Previous national exhibits include: “Capturing Our Culture And Heritage,” “The Civil Rights Movement,” “Buffalo Soldiers,” and “Born In The Spirit.”

Ellis, who currently resides in Friendswood, Texas, is recognized as one of the most celebrated and thought provoking artists of the 21st century. In a mere fifteen years, T. Ellis Art, Inc. has sold over 3,900,000 prints and posters nationwide. His private collectors are many and scattered throughout the globe. Major corporations have commissioned Ellis, most notably: Walt Disney Studios, The Minute Maid Company, The Coca-Cola Corporation, Phillip Morris, and Avon, Incorporated.
He has also been featured on local and regional television programs, in magazines such as Upscale, Southern Living, and Newsweek, and is frequently featured in newspaper articles throughout the country. His artwork may also be found on CDs and books. |
